HEARINGS BEFORE THE BOARD   Policy Code:   2500.OPTB

Board hearings, unless otherwise specified by law or board policy, will be informal. Legal rules of evidence will not apply. For hearings held to appeal a decision of school personnel, the superintendent shall ensure that notice is provided and a record of the hearing is made as required by G.S. 115C-45(c). The board chairperson, or board member serving as chairperson of a board panel, will establish any other hearing procedures to be followed in a particular hearing.

Board hearings will be conducted in accordance with the Open Meetings Law and all other applicable laws and board policies.
